Welding jobs are performed employing the procedure the most appropriate for the material under consideration (e.g. WIG). Remaining stresses in the material are reduced to the minimum by the application of heat treatment, after welding jobs as well as after larger straightening jobs.

zoom shot picture Careful geometry checks (approx. 50,000 original sets of measurements and designs in our archive), proper surface finish to the required quality and exact static balancing as required by the applicable ISO standards ensure low vibration running and proper power absorption of our propellers.

Each repair conducted is documented and filed according to our QM practice (certified by BVQI). This method ensures that each propeller manufactured or repaired by Schaffran can be reconditioned to its original shape after a damage.

zoom shot picture Repairs for inland and sea going navigation and for governmental vessels can be performed under the supervision of the classification society or of any other official quality survey issuing a certificate.

After inspection and assessment of the damage, we can provide a cost estimate for the professional repair and overhaul. If desired, we can also arrange the transport.
