2000   Acquisition of a large propeller repair Workshop and taking over their experienced staff in the free trading zone in the port of Hamburg.

Nov. 1996  Establishment of Schaffran Propeller + Service GmbH after acquisition of know how and trade mark rights by former employees.

April 1996  Withdrawal of the European holding from their newly acquired daughter company.

1995  Purchase of Schaffran by a European holding.

1981  First supply of own patented controllable pitch propeller plant for a newbuilding with asymmetric stern.

1980  Delivery of the first vane wheel acc. Prof. Grim for regular service on RV "Gauss".

1970  Development of Schaffran's own patented compact controllable pitch propeller mechanism.

1969  First full scale vane wheel acc. Prof. Grim (ref. HDW trial report Aug. 1969 and FDS report 10/69).

1916  First systematic propeller calculation fundamentals (in continental Europe) by Dr. Karl Schaffran's A-series model ship propellers.
